i knew i had my old photos somewhere- i scanned them in for my musical because they had wanted to use pics of two sisters;) wanted to show kiat me in my much younger days but i cldnt find it at first. then i did (after i finished studying what i set out to study okay so hey was during my free time :D) and well i picked a favourite picture.

look at how happy we looked. ;) and i loved those jellies! its my 3rd birthday.. you can even see my chinese name written on the cake. oh how i used to love those cakes with choc rice on the outside and lotsa cream and colour. im tacky, i know. our house looked so sparse compared to the amount of stuff i have now(which im almost embarrassed to say) but i guess this is the part where you say money really cant buy you happiness. ;)

studying is a pain.

right in the ass, yes. ;) but oh wells studying IS GOOD FOR US and so we believe. in its goodness.

there really isnt much i can say bout studying can i. except for the fact that im trying my bestest;) well thanks to meredith derek and bailey who's been keeping me awake throughout what feels like a studying marathon, that keeps me in shape.

and my cooking has erm, well, not imrpoved, but at least now i get to do some stuff with food. i miss the taste of normal rice. ;) im getting more and more homesick these days i think. i think of my childhood more, and the things i used to do back home. i swear everytime i hear noises outside my door while im sleeping, i think its my parents moving around the house. ;) i guess in that kind of state we think of whats most familiar to us..

and long live chocolate caramel digestives!!

barcelona baby ;)

i just came back from a run, grocery shopping on my way back, laundry, and making porridge now. :) on my way back i spent some time in this little bookshop and i bought a book. no idea what it is but the cover is yellow(haha) and its about detective and apparently has very dry wit. sounds like all the stuff i like!

barcelona was beautiful, and fun. it really reminded me of singapore /malaysia. all the palm trees and sunny weather. spanish guys btw, arent very goodlooking (sorry no offence intended) but *whispers*they look trashy! well. not anyone's fault. im gonna go to france and see if the guys there are indeed better looking. ;) but the company was great, although i realised we never had a group picture cos we were all too afraid to hand over our cameras to any strangers- barcelona is very famous for pickpocketers. well in all four days i spent quite a bit of money, mainly because we ate very well (very nice seafood) and partly because it is THe land of ZARA ;) and mango and pull and bear. and of course we got to go to the beach;) we had a picnic there. it was such a feeling of high when we felt sand in between our toes, although the water was too cold to skinny dip in ;)
oh and i ate 7 scoops of gelato and many many dunkin donuts. yay!
and met lse friends along the way. how small is this world??
and really really had fun just being around friends ;)

im 20!

huge surprise when i got this big green box for my birthday. wondered WHO could have sent such a big green box other than the doofus whom ive reminded not to send anymore flowers? ;) all my friend were wondering too so they all came up to my room to check it out. and man was the box huge ;)

and so i opened it and TADAA it was from my family! huge huge smile on my face ;)
(my friends were actually plastering themselves to the wallso they wont be in thepic. ) thanks thanks ;) great to know that my family cares enough to send me a big bouquet of flowers. doesnt feel THAT great to turn a big 2 (esp when friends lk janice wishes you one year older!) but feels great to know that ppl arnd me care bout this useless date enough to still make the effort to wish me happy birthday and all. i got some wishes frm some really old friends and that made me really happy. and of cos since ive been celebrating the whole weekend AND until yest i havent really been doing much work. well birthday IS a valid excuse to get off work, isnt it? ;) thank you may for the wonderful picnic; thanks all for bearing the cold with me that day!; thanks to ppl who've brought me to opera musical dinners ;) thanks for all the silly ecards, emails and nearly raunchy message from rai :); and the lovely icing cake and greys and the funny happybirthday video from you ;); and my mum and dad for sending me my stuff AND a bag( im sorry if i said some not so nice stuff bout the bag! appreciate the thought really :D) and of cos the mysterious asos bag sender thankyou nevertheless!

somewhere over the rainbow

;) just had a wonderful long wkend. may's musical, london games, and victorians day. all went well and ended well. everyone's gushing to me bout may now and and how they want to pinch her cheeks/steal her away and put her in a cupboard/bring her home etc etc. and im like 'hey tts the girl im gonna stay with nxt yr!' ;) so im expecting lotsa ppl begging for invitations to our hse warming..

london games was fun, as usual. although not everyone stayed for the finals which i thot was quite a gd match to watch. we really had fun cheering them on from the sides and of cos im a groupie for one and only one of them ;) once again i was woman of the match until i met the damn zai team and they trashed us (as usual). but it was fun ;)

then we saw a double rainbow :) gosh so pretty. oh and houses over at canada waters are really pretty but its zone 2. ive been bringing them up ever since to may but she doesnt seem to like the idea of staying in zone 2. even though theres a little river that runs through the place and all the houses comes with little doors and gardens and cosy looking bricked houses.

then victorians day! haha. okay im still sorry i screwed up the qns but hey we all had fun didnt we. food was gd, company was gd, and i had fun just watching the videos alone. brought back so many memories. i really really lk the robert yeo part (no idea why cos its all bout dota and i obviously dont support the notion of guys being crazy bout dota) but hey it was funny. and obviousloy the mr seet part too when he cldnt find the ez-link card. and i realised its such a small world cos i met some of my sis' frens/classmate even.

;) and all the while i was kinda sick. so i felt a bit woozy and out of touch sometimes and was always desperately trying to get some sleep whenever im back in my room but of course at such times my neighbour strikes again. if you know what i mean.

commitments for the first yr are all over. time to hit the books. bah.

you realise

you're getting too heavy for your little body to take when

1. your feet ache whenever you wear 3inch heels. i alr knew that in dec so thats alright.
2. your knees get bruises after being goalie for floorball cos well, your knees jsut cant take the weight of your body on them! and REALLY bad bruises. i have no idea why.
3. when bing says you're losing your chin!! ive become so conscious of it okay i keep rubbin my chin nowadays. stupid bing. ;) nah okay i still love you MUACKS.

reading week's started! hail holidays. but first, library fines (AGAIN) cos i just hog the books and refuse to return them. but okay treat fines as my loan;)

bouts of hardworkingness

ive been feeling relatively hardworking these days - with the purchase of my new criminal textbook (hail herring!) i decided to start on my tutorial with much anewed vigour only to find that this week's topic does not interest me at all. in fact its a little confusing with all the different sections of assaults. haha but i did manage through the reading although no notes taken. heh.

i now have potpurri all over my room courtesy of a love from a faraway land;) talk about bringing with it the characteristic of the land it came frm- kiasuism. hahaha okay im so evil THANKS okay now my room smells lovely. and may suggested that i put them in little bowls so yeah now my room really looks nice. i hope my pres reaches you on time;)

i think my life is picking up again - with the end of the production comes the start of many new things - floorball, victorian's day, and of cos shopping tmr with shimmie who hasnt replied my sms. :) but im beginning to find stuff to do with friends that i really care about i guess. last weekend was a gd trip down to covent garden spent with cheryl whom i havent talked to in the longest time because everytime we try to do that in french class the teacher calls upon us to ans qn. French btw is not becoming a reality ahha. i still cant speak it very well! i only rem "jai chaud" (pronounced jay sho)which means i am hot. grins. :)

am trying to read the books off my shelf because there is absolutely no use if they're there just for show. although it does make me look intellectual :) starting with time traveler's wife even though i bought agatha christie from spitalfields market trip with rosh last wkend because i think its a better read anw although agatha christie is still the best dont get me wrong. anw i just got reminded of all the times i wld sneak off to the library in the middle of boring lectures and return with agatha christie in my hand. ;) yes rai? i vaguely rem you as being my partner in crime for lectures missed in our quest for good hygiene after a good workout. haha.

ah i miss girlgroup days. ;)

ho ho ho

i thought i'd just post some pics on my blog from my musical;) well it isnt the proper musical pics but you can prob see the wonderful people i've been working with for the past few months (and intensively the two weeks before our showdate). i really miss their company -- the group dynamics is just great -- but i guess thats just the beauty of it all, that we can get along so well and got to know each other simply by having a gd time dancing our butts off and grinning our lips rotten. all thanks to our lovely choreographers;) although the grinning part was mostly guano (go cheerleaders!) and of cos our big bosses- writer musicguy director produccerrr;)

anw ive been sick since i got back from oxford where i was visiting my darling rosh;) okay oxford is pretty and u gotta credit them cos they have primark which is lk the cheapest store EVER but since they're gonna open one in central london, heh heh. well i hope i get well soon. it snt as if my mucus is yellow or anythg i just keep feeling cold and weak tts all. really bad.

so yup im gonna try and hit my books (and maybe my pillows after that) take care friends in singapore. LOVE YOU GUYS;)

excess baggage the musical

its close to midnight now and i just got back not long ago. musical practice is only getting more fun as we get along cos things are starting to fall into place. we spent the night 'dancing'. ohwell. sorta. ;) im kinda glad my brain and my body function well together as a team.

really excited bout the musical;) im giving up oxford trip tmr for my practice tmr. we're gonna sing together with the band. actually, quite a high proportion of vjc people involved in the production(i just found out justin song is our violinist muaha) so yup. and i just got a new role today: dancing with the male lead as a nurse in the hospital while he's egging his friend to chase after this girl;) haha. i know. kinky.

clubber convert?

to date ive had only three clubbing experience: one in sg, and two here. the first was ookayy, and i left feeling that clubbing was a complete waste of time and i had better things to do. unless of cos im there with my lovely girls and out to have a fun time(and just a fun time only) then yeah its prob a nice way to chill(provided its free entry. then i dont have to spent a single cent cos i dont drink;D)

but my second experience made me rethink my position. yeah okay so i went cos it was a free ticket. even though the party was mild and well, yeah, boring and definitely super lots of weird people lurking around (hello my friends call me clark kent (WHATT)) but i had fun. even though i knew only a handful of people there i danced and let loose and enjoyed myself. and so i thought maybe i will consider going clubbing more often just to have fun and destress. since londoners dont seem to partake in any other social activities. and when its dark there arent many choices to choose from.

so i went to my third party thinking happily that yay im gonna have lotsa fun cos ill be knowing super loads of people there(it was a lse party) and even may's going ;) nad my whole hall was practically down there. and its mambo so stupid moves yay retro yay double triple yays. no idea why; maybe i saw lotsa stuff that made me rethink about the people i thought i knew; or maybe i didnt see enough cute guys(but we saw ONE); or maybe it was because everyone was chatting mayling up :D. nah. the last one was beside the point. but anw. :) may and i left earlier than the rest and im ever so thankful to have her with me in london:) i think we did more silly moves in r&b room than in mambo. we can so do indian dance(bhangra recruit??) and im ever more convinced that clubbing will probably just be a small feature of my life, and that i honestly have better things to do with my time (not all the time) like shopping. seriously. so prob as a last resort or when we absolutely feel like it;)

and so eug will bring me for my fourth clubbing experience, yes? ;) st james! haha.

wow

so i havent updated for a month. okay more than that, since in three wks time i'll be making my way home (!!!) :D well not that ive been doing all my readings religiously, hence the lack of time to blog, but.. well. id rather email and talk to ppl:) although some people *ahem the pink one* simply refuses to pick up my calls.

i stepped on a thumbtack yeterday! it went straight into my heel. nope i didnt scream, i simply yanked the thing out. quite cool. may freaked out and came down with antiseptic wipes and all. but oh well i talked to the nurse today and she gave me an appointment (so nhs is not without compassion) even though they were full and the previous nurse had wanted me to go down tmr. so everythg's well. i wont be getting my lockjaw anytime soon:D but now the arm is aching, and in the nurse' words, it really feels like 'someone punched me in the arm'. ouch.

work on the other hand has just been piling up; or maybe now that im getting the hang of things im more willing/eager/enthusiastic to really read my books and know my stuff. we'll see how that goes;) first i have to tackle my esays.

london is turning yellow;) muaha. autumn is really here, yay. nottingham was really beautiful, and if you just take a moment and willingly allow yourself to freeze to death in the open, the trees are really quite gorgeous;) esp when the yellow leaves fell onto the green grass. it was like stepping into a picture perfect moment. ive deicded to walk around my area tmr for a short while and take some pictures;) was walking to sch today and i realised i had better take some pictures before all the leaves fall off.

(actually im in my library waitin for class to start and im supposed to do my readings for my next class. but aiyah. ;D )

i watched bentan's video and i thot it was fantastic;D ill ask him if i can post on my blog. haha. erm, but it was strange seeing ppl you know act. im sorry adrian lucas and ben when i saw you guys i just burst out laughing. esp when lucas did tt 'i dont give a damn' face HA HA HA. :D but gd video ben. though i dont believe jianhao sounds so gd! and yes lah gabriel nice music. ;)

lectures finally made sense to me. i think contract law is smthg i can identify with, yay. not public, not criminal, no legal system. CONTRACT. woohoo gd start. yeah baby.

anw here are pics of my hall food although i realised that they arent the usual hall food ive been eating for the past three wks(three wks! its been along time) but anw. u can figure out the portion. :)

breakfast! although this was the first time i saw scrambled eggs. normally we have poached eggs.

first time having rice in this hall and it was okay. mushy but edible. normally i have lasagne or pasta instead of the chicken, and prob potato or chips instead of rice. go figure.:)

so yup. i think im really gonna enjoy studying here in london because of all the opportunities i get here. i love trying new stuff and making new friends(both still ongoing ;D) i walked back hall with this guy frm my class today and he said he actually wanted to go travel singapore and hk during summer so he asked how long wld it take him to finish touring singapore. ahha. i erm, pondered for a while and couldnt' really give him a satisfactory ans. ithink i said smthg lk 3days-1wk. honestly if its just the tourist attractions probably can finish in a day or smthg. but i tried to say oh we've got lotsa shoppin and if you really want to go explore the smaller parts you can spend a long time in singapore. :) and of cos i offered to bring him arnd if he comes over.
it wld really be quite fun if he comes over.

and i think studying here makes me realise how lucky i am and i cant say enough. im loved, loved, loved. although it always makes me feel like crying;)

its lk the bugis village of london. i think. just that taiwan street wear is popular in bugis, but goth clothes are popular in camden market;) i didnt bring lotsa cash(lucky thg) but i think i got good buys. the teeshirts were really funny but they were all quite expensive considering they were only teeshirts. im beginning to love london for the fashion you get:) its fun to wear nice clothes. or be more experimental with clothes.

i really wanted to wear skirt and stockings today to cheer myself up but the sky is really grey today and its raining. so hm ill see how lah.

anw sch is starting soon and i can already imagine all the amazingly interesting stuff im gonna learn. yes alot of readings and alot of work and effort(i dont think u can fluff ur way through exams cos u really need to know what you're writing?) so yeah.

i hate going to the library. but ive been going quite alot.

coming to london has really been a gd experience. i learn alot, and i realise that i am ever so lucky to have family and frens who love and care about me. maybe i do need to know tt ppl still care, beneath my whatever icequeen exterior. and may has been a gd fren indeed;)

okay so now that mum's gone im really alone. not really alone cos i have so many frens here ;) okay not alot but enough to last me lah huh. strange thgs but im clicking so well with king's law ppl but thats only because they're all here in international hall ahha.
am drinking some fruit fusion tea now quite tasty. yum yum.
i think lse is cheating my money bcos my first wk of 'sch' is my opening wk to law, and we do stuff lk watch film and have lectures about study techniques part one and two, then introduction to the library and IT in law. im not gettin my money worth! ok ok i shall not complain lest my workload more than doubles when sch actually starts. but for now. :)

i havent really been doing anything since the start of the day, just woke up really early to catch mayling at breakfast so i could talk to her. honestly i dont feel like ive settled down yet, but at the same time my room looks very lived in already. just lotsa fruit flies arnd cos of all the fruits my mum keeps buying. but i think i shall be coping fine. i think i shall go organise my life right now though. and stop sleeping so much:)

okay frens im sorry i havent been updating but i really tried uploading pictures here and somehow its not working. ANW i figured my internet out myself how cool is tt;) im very proud of that thank you very much. anw the weather is still lovely, although its getting colder i think. my 20kg parcel finally arrived and i gotta admit, i think ive got too many clothes;) but its okay then ill save money on shoppin cos theres a big FCUK outside my sch. and basically ive been walking around. beautiful parks around here, very fat pigeons, and very expensive stuff around here. okay lah shampoo is cheaper here, but tissue paper is ridiculously much more expensive than singapore.
;) london eye is quite beautiful, but i think only cos its THE london eye. big ben is much more captivating, cos it looks gold plated;) and in the sun the reflection on its gold against the brown is simply quite stunning. u really get the whole majestic feel. and im in love with the colonial architecture u get here;) u can take pics of all the building! which makes me feel very touristy ahha. and yup i had great plans today but we couldnt get to where we wanted to cos haha my mum and i arent particularly gifted in the area of deciphering maps.;)
